Along the Beam focuses on conversations about art and culture as understood through the lens of Christianity. We seek to explore the good and the beautiful through creativity and to approach the complexities of living in a secular culture as Christians. Hosted by Clayton R. Conder, a writer and researcher whose work primarily centers around speculative fiction and theology. He holds master’s degrees in Cultural Apologetics (Houston Christian University, 2023) and Medieval Studies (University of St. Andrews, 2019). Alongside the podcast, he writes regularly on his blog where he explores storytelling, imagination, and meaning in fiction.
Co-hosted and produced by Kevin Schmitz, a music producer and drummer who acts as the overall creative mind behind the Cincinnati-based metalcore band, Fighting Regress. As a solo artist he goes by the name F-SIDE under which he released his 2021 single “Dreams.” Beyond his work in music and on the podcast, Kevin works as a bartender both privately and at a local pub.
